Tuesday

The pier on the beach. Some guys were fishing and catching
small silver fish. The pelicans were waiting for free food. As one man
took his fish off the hook, a pelican snatched it out of his hand.

It was still a little cool today, but there I am in my bikini :)

We moved into our nice suite today. It has a nice big deck.
Shortly I'm going to grill pork chops for supper.

Florida

We finally arrived on the beach after 3 days of driving.
Not too warm here cuz of the cold crap that has been hitting
the whole country but it was sunny and I could finally get out
the flip flops again!! Below is the quaint place we are staying at!

Fort Meyers Beach

We arrived at our destination at 2:30 today! The sun was shining
and it was 65 degrees. Tomorrow we are getting a free upgrade to
a 2 floor suite with 2 king beds, 1 queen, a sofa sleeper, a kitchen,
and a deck overlooking a waterway.

Took a walk on the beach. The wind was pretty cool. Have to check out the pier tomorrow.

There's a little patio area outside our room with a grill and even a heater.
We ate dinner at Smokin' Oyster Brewery. Plan to get fresh seafood and
cook our own food the next days.

Forida

We have arrived in the Sunshine state. Have not experienced the sunshine yet. It had snowed overnight in TN. We thot, "No problem--we're heading south--it will get better." Around Atlanta we found ourselves in a real blizzard and had to drive slow. Becky and I watched a movie so as not to pay attention to the road conditions. Then it rained on into Florida and is 45 degrees. We don't have far to go tomorrow. Pictures of sunny beaches to come.....

I'm back

I'm coming back to the blog scene! Life got a little overwhelming. John's mom was falling a lot and quite limited in her moving about because of leg edema, so I was sort of living 2 separate lives at her house and mine. Makes me wonder about those guys who are secretly married to 2 women and have 2 lives.

Jane is going to an assisted living place on Monday for a few weeks to see if they can do something about getting her legs smaller. And there will be people right there to pick her up if she falls. Amazingly, she hasn't been hurt with all her tipping over. One day she even put her head thru the bedroom wall. It got no bump, and wasn't sore at all. Hardheaded?

And I'm so excited.....WE'RE GOING TO FLORIDA!!!!

We left at 6:30 this morning with my sister and her husband. After 12 hours on the road we are in Clarksville, TN. It is sleeting here and sposed to snow during the night. I was hoping to break out the sandals tomorrow ;( Maybe by the end of the day. This is what we left.
Illinois is flat and boring. We saw lots of this.

Quite a few wind farms. And we saw a couple oil wells.

Viv's getting married!

This is Matt's Grandma Viv. She is such a great lady! I love her sense of humor and how loving she is. Her husband of many years died a few years ago and she is now getting married again at 81 or 82. I got to go to her bachelorette party last night. I always enjoy being with that family--they are so so fun! It was a surprise--good thing she didn't have a heart attack. It was a good time!

More aprons

The Super Bowl is over. We watched even tho we're not big fans. I sewed a little amid watching.

It was a mellow day starting with nursery duty at church. I was feeling a bit bad cuz I am fighting off a cold and thot maybe I shouldn't spread it to kids, but I needn't have worried....All but one kid had snot and rattly chests. Enjoyed a Sunday paper and was excited to get 40% off coupons for both Hobby Lobby and Michaels!! John and I took a drive during sunset time--beautiful sky! "Red sky at night...sailor's delight". Tomorrow should be delightful. Spring is in the air.
