New pond

This week Trevor and a friend made a new pond in the valley and this little road. They are going to plant a field of corn for the deer. The valley was rearranged quite a bit when all the flooding happened 2 years ago. Many piles of rock have appeared, hillsides have slid, trees are lying all over, and new gullies have formed. Being down there and seeing where the old pond was made me miss my little kids. There was a willow tree they planted and a big tank that they rigged up for spring water to go thru--their swimming pool ;) In the summer they would disappear for long hours having adventures in the woods. I wished I could have them back at those ages for maybe 10 minutes so I could just watch them again. But as John said--then you'll just miss them more. It passed too quickly.

Pretend Grandma

Today was Grandparents' Day at Hope's school so I got to be "pretend grandma". The kids put on a nice program and then we got to go to their classrooms for a tour. We were treated to a great chicken dinner too. Hope is very fortunate to be able to attend a school where she is cared about in a family way and getting a good education which is faith based.

New spring frock

My friend who greets people at the front door was sadly in need of a new apron for the change of season.

The Before

Garage sales have begun!! I found this old high chair for $6 and envisioned it in a pretty teal color. The clown decal is kind of scary so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for an old decal that wouldn't frighten a kid. No---I'm not just dying to have grandchildren
. I just liked the chair. Perhaps an after photo will appear in less than a year. I found the paint sample.....

Easter

Tyler, Jami, and Pucca hosted our Easter dinner. It was a FINE affair! We thot Tyler looked suspiciously like Stuart on MadTV in this shot. The princess pup was decorated with a bow and pink choker.

Saturday Painting

Tyler has resided his house...it's a looooong house. John and I painted this side today to be good helping parents. It was fun. I did the stuff from my height down and John did the ladder range.

Hunger

Tanner went off to work the other day without lunch. I hadn't made one cuz he thot he wasn't going to work. He came home after a long day pretty famished. Said he had found an old beef stick in his truck and some pop. I had to laugh when I saw his plate. He didn't even have room for broccoli. I'm thinking he maybe appreciated his mom's lunches that I lovingly pack.

John's arrived!

It's bad enough when all the AARP envelopes start coming, but now this! Looks like he's ready for a Scooter. I can't imagine him doing all he does riding around on a scooter. He does have motorcycle experience which may come in handy. Maybe I'll get one too and we can ride side by side into our sunset years. I'd like mine in lime green please.

Hope springs......

Hope spent the weekend with us. She is such a joyful, exuberant child! We went out to the point to see a big field fire on the next ridge and picked some crocuses.
