Hims and Her
John's mom was kind of down in the dumps when I saw her last Thursday and I saw in the paper that the Winona Hims were doing a concert on Saturday, so I asked if she'd like to go. She was due for an outing adventure. The men's singing group sings hymns and old spirituals and they donate money raised to area organizations that help people. We dined at the Country Kitchen afterwards. Jane is a delightful almost 90 year young woman!

New Herd Begins
Yesterday we got the first calf to start the next herd. He came from the farm where Tessa works and she is probably the one who started him since she breeds the cows. Last year's calves are quite large now and may be sold in January. It's just right to have animals on a farm. Our neighbors who have farmed and milked cows for many years just sold all their cattle and every time I drive by I feel so sad and almost feel like a death has taken place.
I haven't seen a hummingbird in 4 days and only have bees at the feeders, so I think they have flown to warmer lands. I'll miss them.....until May.

Katie's Getting Married
Matt's sister Katie is getting married in December. She had a shower today; complete with nice people and good food! And here's another apron. Also gave her a Paula Deen cookbook. She is marrying an Air Force man who grew up in LaX but now lives in Idaho.

Jessee's New Ride
Jessee got a new truck today! She deserves it after dealing with her last one. It's very nice! And she's modeling the apron I made for her. After picking out the fabric at Hobby Lobby, I thot it would be fun to get a journal and put a few recipes in. I got back to the journals and there on top was a journal that matched(exactly)the fabric. I see it as a wink from God! ;)
30 Great Years and Counting...
Yesterday was our anniversary of 30 years! That went by in a blink. We dated for about 9 years before we got married. God blessed me with a most wonderful mate. He has such a servant heart and continually shows me that he loves me. When we first came to know one another, I was attracted to his smile, outgoing personality, fearlessness, and his motorcycle. It's been a great ride and I look forward to the rest of the trip!

Relaxing weekend(for some of us)
We visited Mary last weekend and she had a honey-do list for John. She knows he's not the type to sit and do nothing for very long.
So John fixed a toilet, puttied a window sil, cleaned the garage, and put up a curtain rod and curtains. What a guy!!
I forced her to do the Vanna White. The curtains were perfect for her bedroom and looked lovely blowing in the breeze.
Spent some nice time reading on the deck and seeing deer and geese out in the swampy area. I read a whole book! I have no trouble sitting doing nothing. On Sunday we went to a big flea market and I found some great used Christmas gifts my kids will love!
